ABRS

After applying for and passing the strict process and criteria of the Association of British Riding Schools, we passed with the highest standard. We are now officially an ABRS-approved riding school and livery yard.

The Association of British Riding Schools (ABRS) represents and supports some of the best riding establishments and livery yards in the UK and Overseas. Founded in 1954, the ABRS runs Britain's longest established Approval Scheme for Riding Establishments. The ABRS is a National Governing Body, a member body of the British Equestrian Federation, and a member of both the Sport and Recreation Alliance and Sport Scotland. In the UK, the ABRS is the only organisation that is dedicated solely to working on behalf of riding establishments, livery yards and their clients.

An 'Approved Riding School or Livery Yard' is an establishment that meets the standards of the ABRS’ national Approved Scheme. The ABRS sets a high standard for horse care and requires that the instruction given is well presented and correct.

You can be assured by the knowledge that we are on a list that has been approved by the ABRS. This means that we:

  • Will trade fairly
  • Are correctly insured
  • Have facilities that are safe
  • Provide the best possible care for the horses and ponies in our care, custody or control
  • Use horses and ponies that are suitable for the riding services that we provide
  • Will provide good quality tuition using staff that are appropriately qualified
  • Have appropriate measures for safeguarding where this is required
  • This also allows our students to take part in lots of riding/horse care tests etc
